Steve Drimmer

SAFRR Treasurer

Steve Drimmer, SAFRR Treasurer, manages SAFRR’s non-profit operations and financial resources. With heightened concerns about the dangers from increasing wildfire risk, Steve joined the Board of Trustees of the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. He raised funds to help supplement the LAFD budget and meet the needs of local firehouses and is instrumental in SAFRR’s statewide fundraising and advocacy efforts.

Steve, a resident of the Mountaingate community high on the western flank of the Sepulveda Pass, has served as the president of the Mountaingate Open Space Maintenance Association (MOSMA is the master HOA) for the past 20 years. As President, Steve has led the fight against the commercialization of the Sepulveda Pass and the Mountaingate community. Under Steve’s leadership, MOSMA has launched a series of lawsuits to stop the Berggruen Institute from violating the area’s zoning by establishing a giant project adjacent to protected open space. He also worked with Council District 11 to bring Mountaingate Country Club into compliance with area zoning and their planning approvals.

Steve was instrumental in working with ALERTWildfire and continues to work to bring additional fire-spotting cameras to the Sepulveda Pass and ridges of Mandeville Canyon. As a founding member of the Brentwood Alliance for Canyons and Hillsides — a force to preserve and protect Brentwood’s canyon and hillside communities through environmental vigilance.
