Marylee Guinon
SAFRR President
Marylee brings an extensive background in environmental consulting, focused on regulatory compliance, land use entitlements, and natural resources throughout California. She worked on numerous challenging projects encompassing regulatory compliance and permitting, watershed planning, habitat restoration, and adaptive management.
Marylee owned Sycamore Associates for three decades. Drawing from her expertise, Ms. Guinon has authored many frequently referenced publications concerning biodiversity, restoration, forest genetics, and habitat valuation. She regularly taught courses at UC Berkeley and UC Extension on restoration, environmental regulations, and land management, as well as provided expert witness testimony.
She focuses her energy in several capacities, including consensus building, community outreach, and funding. She serves on the board of her regional fire council, advocating for local and state wildfire safety policy, and works tirelessly with retired firefighters on safe evacuations and firefighter safety. Marylee was inspired by accepting two awards on behalf of SAFRR – from Sonoma County Conservation Action and Sonoma County Conservation Council.
