Palisades Fire - Lessons Learned Video

Using the January 2025 Palisades Fire as an example, this engaging 6-min video summarizes Los Angeles’ long history of wildfire and highlights the 2025 accelerating firestorms that resulted in structure to structure fires and failed evacuations.

Existing communities burn over and lives are lost when local government decision- makers approve new developments, yet do not implement the State Minimum Fire Safe Regulations (FSR) on existing and new access roads, whether Public or Private.  The regulations and evacuation laws apply to access - as existing communities and new developments rely on the same roads for evacuation. Any proposed Alternative Measures for a standard must be a substantive, engineered solutions that provide the “same practical effect” in terms of public safety.
